FAQs

 FAQs

  • How do I book?

Booking is only done via email, please read these FAQs and email me to get booked in!

  • How long is the waiting list?

I’m normally booking around 3 months ahead, this is slightly different while I try and catch up from lockdown.

  • How much will it cost?

I price per piece, as opposed to going by an hourly rate. You will be sent a quote prior to booking once you’ve sent over the information regarding your idea.

  • Will I need to pay a deposit?

A non refundable deposit of between £20-£150 is required to secure any booking.

  • If Lucie doesn’t do her emails herself, will I be given the right information?

I have a very capable assistant who manages my emails, this means that I can manage my time better between home and work life, and I’m also free to spend more time on tattooing and preparing for appointments.

Flo has years worth of experience in managing a tattoo studio and the diary of a tattooist, she liaises with me on all pricing and enquiries, she literally just does the leg work!

  • How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

    Before your appointment:

Please clean the area, shave if necessary, exfoliate and moisturise the night before your appointment.

Do not fake tan or get sunburnt prior to your tattoo.

Make sure to drink plenty of water and have a good night's sleep.

Food is essential so make sure to have an adequate meal before coming in and bring a sugary drink or sweets with you. For Day sittings, bring some lunch.

Photographic government ID is compulsory (drivers licence, passport, citizen card)

  • Can I use numbing cream?

While we cannot supply you with a numbing agent, you are welcome to use one. However, there are lots of fake creams on the market which can be very dangerous to make sure to do your research.

The numbing cream can affect the healing of the tattoo, if numbing cream is used then we cannot guarantee how well it heals and if any touch ups are required then there will be a fee.

  • Can I be tattooed if I’m on a certain medication?

Please consult your doctor if you have any queries about any medication that could affect the tattoo process.

  • Do you do cover ups?

I rarely do cover ups of existing tattoos, the style of tattooing I do is very light and delicate and uses a lot of negative space. This is not a suitable style for cover ups but please get in touch and if it’s not something that I’ll take on, we can make some recommendations of artists who may be able to help.

  • Can I bring anyone to my appointment?

Please come alone, we are a very small studio due to the pandemic, have removed our waiting area.

  • Can I be tattooed if I am under 18?

The law states that you must be 18 to be tattooed. No exceptions.

    Photographic ID is compulsory.

  • Do you sell gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers are available on my online shop.

  • How do I look after my new tattoo?

    If Second Skin is used:

Remove after 3-5 days. Fluid will gather under the dressing and it may look ‘blurry’ but this is totally normal.

You can shower with the dressing on but do not soak in the bath or swim.

Once the dressing is removed, wash with soap and apply a thin layer of moisturiser twice daily max.

    If clingfilm is used:

    Remove dressing after one hour.

Wash with a gentle soap. Pat dry with clean towel.

    Repeat this 2-3 times daily.

48 hours after your new tattoo, you can apply a moisturiser. Apple a thin layer a maximum of twice daily

Moisturisers to use: Cocoa Butter, coconut oil, Tattoo Aftercare.

Your tattoo will form a light scab, this will naturally fall away. When the scab has gone, the tattoo area may appear light and silvery however this is a normal part of the healing process.

Using a moisturiser or cold flannel can soothe it when it becomes itchy,

DO NOT pick or scratch at your new tattoo.

    Things to avoid:

Soaking in the bath, sunbathing, swimming, saunas, dirt, oil, grease, paint, industrial cleaners, raw meats.

Your new tattoo will burn very easily so avoid direct sunlight on the area during warm weather.

Once you leave the shop, your tattoo is your responsibility and we cannot be held responsible for how well you look after it. Please only follow these instructions and not advice given to you from anyone else.

Should a reaction occur to the dressing or tattoo, please consult your doctor.

  • How long after my tattoo can I swim or use a sauna?

Do not swim or use a sauna for 2 weeks after your fresh tattoo.

  • Can you tattoo over scars?

I can usually tattoo over most scars providing they are fully healed. This usually takes a couple of years. Sometimes tattoos over scar tissue can require a second sitting due to the nature of the skin. If in doubt, please feel free to send me an email.

  • Will you send me my design before my appointment?

Sometimes I do not draw the design until the evening before or the day of your appointment, so I do not send over designs prior. It’s important to make sure you let me know of any specific requests while booking in. I have time to make small changes to your design at the start of your appointment but if it requires significant redrawing then your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
